Video To Persuade Overweight Youngsters To Become Healthier

The aim of our video is to persuade and influence the audience into thinking that being overweight is an unhealthy lifestyle choice. Using the principle ‘Social Proof’ from ‘The Six Principles of Influence’ (Robert Cialdini, 1984) it illustrates how being overweight is considered socially unacceptable and frowned upon, hence the bullying and loneliness of the individual in the video. Using an industry professional to explain the risks of being overweight also creates the thought process of: “If they say that, it must be right...” which is evidence of Robert Cialdini’s social proof theory influencing the audience’s opinions on the matter.

After taking the personality test I was named ‘The Examiner’. This seems to be accurate in describing me as having a keen sense of right and wrong and being uncomfortable with people who don’t meet deadlines. After being named an introvert, I agree that I prefer smaller groups of people and am independent, however I don’t agree with the point that I am quiet, I am openly chatty and talkative. I also disagree with the point of me being thick skinned, I believe I am quite sensitive and can be hurt quite easily.
